CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of May 21, 2009 - Speeial Meeting Page 2 of2 4. APPOINTMENT TO THE SOUTH SEMINOLE & NORTH ORANGE COUNTY WASTEWATER TRANSMISSION AUTHORITY Staff Presentation: Mr. Ed Torres, Public Works Director, stated the City is a member of the South Seminole & NOlih Orange County Wastewater Transmission Authority (SSNOCWTA) and therefore is entitled to be represented on the S SN OCWT A Board. A vacancy for the City's representative occurred when Ms. Phyllis Wallace resigned from her employment with the Public Works Department. The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended that Mr. Steve Spencer, Streets, Fleet and Stormwater Superintendent, be appointed as the City's new representative to the SSNOCTW A Board, filling the unexpired term of Ms. Wallace until September30, 2012. Mr. Spencer meets the SSNOCTW A Board's by- law requirement that the City's representative and alternate be Casselberry residents. Ms. Barbara Lipscomb, City Manager, will continue to serve as the City's alternate representative. MOTION: Vice Mayor Hufford moved to appoint Mr. Steve Spencer as the City's representative to the South Seminole & North Orange County Wastewater Transmission Authority Board, term effective until September 30, 2012. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Solomon. DISCUSSION: Copies of an email sent by Commissioner Doerner in which she indicated she had no objection to the appointment of Mr. Spencer to the SSNOCWTA Board were distributed to the City Commission. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 4 - O. 5. ADJOURNMENT MOTION: Commissioner Solomon moved to adjourn the meeting. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Miller.
