Mayors/Managers Group Report -Mayor Glancx Mayor Glancy reported on discussion at the Apri120, 2010 Mayors and Mangers Group meeting regarding the continuation of the one cent sales tax. and related tratlsportafion initiatives. Mayor Glalley I•equested comments from the Commission regarding the continuation of the sales tax and the transportation initiatives. Commissioner Hufford expressed eollcerus regarding shifting away fi'oIn local transportation needs to class transit. Commissioner Miller expressed concerns regarding file cormector plans to the rail s#ations from cities that do not have stations. Vice Mayor Solomon spoke in support of mass tt•ansit development, noting slle utilizes LYNX to go to the airport on a regular basis, also utilizes mass transit when visiting Atlanta and New York City. One oftlle sites selectee[ is located in Sanford near 13'x` Street and the raih•oad crossing and the other site vas near tale County Services center at Five Points. Commissioner Doer•ner stated that Commissioner Dallari would be checking into the accuracy of the site locations because he was under the impression that one of the sites would be located on the south end of the corridor.
