Wastes containing B.O.D. above 30U mg/1 or any <br />waste containing fats, waxes, grease, or oil in excess of 100 mg/1; suspended <br />solids above 300 mg/1. <br />"APPROVAL AUTHORITY." The Director in an NPDES state with an approved <br />state pretreatment program and the Administrator of the E.P.A. in a non-NPDES <br />state or NPDES state without an approved state pretreatment program. <br />"B.O.D." or "DENOTING BIOCHEMICAL OXYGEN DEMAND." The quantity of oxygen <br />utilized in the biochemical oxidation of organic matter under procedures as <br />specified in "Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater," <br />latest edition (standard laboratory procedure" with incubation for five days at <br />20°C., expressed in parts per million by weight (milligrams per liter). <br />"BUILDING DRAIN." That part of the lowest horizontal piping of a drainage <br />system which receives the discharge from soil, waste, and other drainage pipes <br />inside the walls of the building and conveys it to the building sewer, being <br />five feet outside the inner face of the wall. <br />3 <br />
