Miscellaneous/Discnssion Items <br />(a) Police Officers' and Firefighters' Pension Conference -October 22, 23 and 24, 2007 <br />Radisson Hotel & Conference Center, 12600 Roosevelt Blvd., St, Petersburg, Florida <br />MOTION; Moved by Chief Do~~ald Harkins to authorize the nxenkbers of the <br />Board of Trustees to attend the conference in St, Petersburg on <br />October 22, 23 and 24, 2007. Motion was seconded by Sgt. William <br />Nas and carried unauimousiy ou a 3 - 0 vote. <br />(b) Review of Pension Plan Forms -Chief Harkins stated that all the Pension Plan Members <br />should be reminded to update their beneficiary forms. All pension plan forrrzs were <br />included in the packet for information purposes. A complete list of these foztzzs are <br />attached to and made a part of these minutes. <br />Items Added to the Agenda <br />Plan Administrator <br />Chief Harkins asked that the Board consider hiring an outside Administrator for the Plan. The <br />Attorney asked for authorization to send out a Request for Proposal for the Administrator that <br />will be funded by the Pension Plan. <br />MOTION: Moved by Chief Donald Harkins to authorize the Board Attorney to <br />prepare a Request for Proposal (RTP) for an Administrator for <br />the Plan, Motion was seconded by Sgt. William Nas and carried <br />unanianousty on a 3 - d vote. <br />The Board will review the proposals at the next Quartezly Meeting on November 13, 2007. <br />Benefit Survey <br />Froze the audience, Firefighter Aaron Imeson asked if a decision had been made regarding <br />funding enhanced benefits, i.e. increasing the 3% multiplier to 3.5% or reducing the years of <br />service from 25 years to 21 years. After discussion, the Board opted to conduct a survey to <br />determine the preference of the Plan Members. <br />MOTION: Moved by Sgt. William Nas to authorize that a survey be conchictecl <br />to determine the preference of the Plan Members regarding the 3% <br />multiplier and reducing the retirement years from 25 to 21. Motion <br />was seconded by Chief Donald Harkins and carried unanimously ou <br />a3-Ovote. <br />The survey will be conducted by the City Clerk in conjunction with the election of a b'irefighter <br />member on November 1, 2007• The results of the election survey will be reported at the <br />November 13, 2007 meeting. <br />
