The third contract is with East Central Florida Regional Planning <br />Corridor Analyses, He said that contract amount is ~37,aaa. <br />i <br />Ii <br />i <br />Council to provide a US Highway 17-92 CRA <br />I <br />Mr. Paradise explained thak the information that is generated from these studies and the studies regarding !the <br />intensities and densities will assist in updating the Redevelopment Plan. <br />The funding of the studies was discussed, In response to the Board's question, Mr. Paradise said that the Cify wit! be <br />funding the studies for the State Road 436 corridor and Winter Park Drive, A general discussion ensued regarding the State <br />Load 436 Study and the Red Bug Lake Road flyover project, <br />In response to the Board's question, Mr. Paradise explained that Seminole County has already conduc#ed the Fern <br />Park corridor study. He explained that once a preliminary design has been selected for the US Highway 17-921State Road <br />436 intersection improvements the Cify will contact Seminole County to requesk their participation with the actual engines ing <br />and full design of the project. He said there may be grants available to assist with the project. i <br />A general discussion ensued regarding the US Highwayl7-921S#ate Road 436 and the Red Bug Lake Road fly ~ver <br />projects and possible alternative options for the US Highway 17-921State Road 436 intersection. Mr. Rl#chie stated that ;this <br />1 <br />project has been postponed for several years and he questioned the impact of postponing this item until the transition of hi~ing <br />a <br />anew Community Development Director has been completed. ~ <br />Mr. Paradise skated that Ms. Lipscomb had a preliminary discussion with FDOT regarding the Cify researctling <br />alternative designs for the US Highway 17-921State Road 436 intersection. A general discussion ensued regarding theUS <br />f <br />Highway 17-921State Road 436 intersection improvements. The Board stated that They want to see projects that will incre€ se <br />the City's ad valorem tax base. The Board discussed postponing the studies due to updating the CRA Master Plan. In <br />response to the Board's question, Mr. Paradise reviewed the time frame required for the three proposals. Mr. Paradise stated <br />that these studies need to be completed so this information can be included in the Seminole County's total corridor ana[}~sis. <br />I <br />He said the County is going forward with their project within the next month. <br />He said Seminole County has a grant through Lynx and the County is skarting the process to look at the potential for <br />bus rapid transit for the U5 Highway 17-92 corridor, He said the flyover project presents different issues for bus rapid trarslt, <br />Mr. Paradise explained that the information from these studies is needed to supplement that grant application.
