<br />Community Redevelopment Agency <br />March 12, 2010 <br />Page 4 <br />After a brief discussion regarding Sun Rail, it was decided to postpone scheduling a joint work session with <br />the City Commission until more information is available. Commissioner Solomon stated that she is the Commission <br />representative on the Seminole County CRA and she attends all the meetings. The Board requested Commissioner <br />Solomon to provide updates to the Board regarding the Seminole County CRA. <br />Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, Florida came forward. In response to Mr. <br />Casselberry's question, the Board stated that the CRA hired the consulting firm regarding the intersection <br />improvements. Mr. Casselberry questioned if it was appropriate for the CRA to tell the City when it is appropriate to <br />talk to the County regarding the corridor. <br />Mr. Casselberry said about ten years ago Florida Department of Transportation did not want signals closer <br />than about 3,000 feet along US Highway 17-92 to keep the speed upon the roadway. He felt that both US Highway <br />17-92 and State Road 436 are getting get busier and riskier for people to cross from residential areas. He said that <br />signal location priority from his point of view was to gather the most residential traffic together and cross at a light <br />connected with commercial. Mr. Casselberry suggested possible locations to place traffic signals for the US Highway <br />17-92/State Road 436 area. <br />Mr. Casselberry questioned the design of the US Highway 17-92/State Road 436 flyover project. The Board <br />explained that the flyover design has been completed. <br />Eighth Item of Business: Finance Report <br />Ms. Rebecca Bowman, Accounting Manager, distributed and reviewed the Finance Report for month ending <br />February 28, 2010 (a copy is on file in the Community Development Department). <br />Ninth Item of Business: Other Business <br />Mr. McGregor suggested that the CRA send a letter to Wal-Mart thanking them for developing in the City. <br />Mr. Jones suggested sending a letter from the City to the owner of Buffalo Wild Wings thanking them for opening <br />their restaurant in Casselberry. <br />Tenth Item of Business: Director's Report <br />Mr. Don Martin stated due to the length of the meeting he would postpone his Director's Report until the <br />next meeting.
