WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted the Major Thoroughfare Mixed Use future land use category to promote and implement these goals along the City's major collectors of US Highway 17-92 and State Road 436; and WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Commission that owners of properties with an MTMU future land use designation are encouraged to continue the current use on their property until such time as it is economically feasible to redevelop their property based on the MTMU standards; and WHEREAS, the Local Planning Agency of the City of Casselberry held a duly noticed public hearing on the proposed Comprehensive Plan map amendments after due public notice on February 24, 2010; and WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry City Commission held a public hearing on these Comprehensive Plan map amendments after due public notice on March 22, 2010, and considered the advice and findings of the Local Planning Agency, and upon thorough and complete consideration and deliberation, approved the proposed large scale Future Land Use Map and text amendments for transmittal to the Department of Community Affairs; and WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry transmitted the proposed amendments on March 31, 2010 to the Department of Community Affairs pursuant to Section 163.3184 and Rule 9J-11, Florida Administrative Code; and WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry received from the Florida Department of Community Affairs an "Objections, Recommendations, and Comments Report" on June 1, 2010, reflecting the Department's review of the proposed amendments; and WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry City Commission held a second public hearing after due public notice on June 28, 2010 at which it reviewed the written comments submitted by the Department of Community Affairs in the Objections, Recommendations, and Comments Report; reviewed all other written and oral comments submitted by members of the public, other local Ordinance 10-1323 US 17-92 Corridor FLUM Amendments Page 2 of 11
