ORDINANCE NO. 726 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 34, EMPLOYMENT POLICIES, OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING <br />DEFINITION OF "CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEES," "DEPARTMENT <br />HEAD," "COMMISSION," AND "APPOINTING AUTHORITY"; DELETING <br />DEFINITION OF "MAYOR" AND "COUNCIL"; DELETING SECTION <br />34.165 THROUGH SECTION 34.168, APPOINTMENT, REMOVAL OF <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS; CHANGING REFERENCES IN CHAPTER 34 FROM <br />MAYOR TO CITY MANAGER AND FROM CITY COUNCIL TO CITY <br />COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF <br />THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. That Section 34.001, Definitions, of the Code of Ordinances <br />of the City of Casselberry, Florida, is hereby amended to include new <br />definitions as follows: <br />"APPOINTING AUTHORITY". The City Manager. <br />"CITY COMMISSION". The City Commission, as established <br />by the City Charter. <br /> <br />"CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEE." All persons appointed, <br />including holdover appointees, to City-paid positions in <br />all paid departments of the City, excluding Charter <br />officers, department heads, part-time and probationary <br />employees, all those employed by the city on professional <br />retainer, all employees holding seasonal, limited, or <br />emergency appointments, and any future (occasional) <br />positions which may be appointed for which an exempt <br />status may be specified by action of the City Manager as <br />ratified by affirmative vote of the City Commission. <br /> <br />"DEPARTMENT HEAD".
