ment Date. <br />3. Disability <br />A. Eligibility. Members shall be covered from <br />date of employment for disabilities which are determined by the <br />Board to have been incurred while performing duties as a General <br />Employee of the City. Members shall be covered following the <br />completion of ten (10) years of Credited Service for disabilities <br />which are determined by the Board not to have been incurred while <br />performing duties as a General Employee of the City. <br />B. Exclusions. A Member will be considered <br />totally disabled if, in the opinion of the Board, he or she is <br />wholly prevented from rendering useful and efficient service as a <br />General Employee; and a Member will be considered permanently <br />disabled if, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, such Member <br />is likely to remain so disabled continuously and permanently from <br />a cause other than is specified below: <br />(a) Excessive and habitual use by the Member <br />of drugs, intoxicants or narcotics; <br />(b) Injury or disease sustained by the <br />Member while willfully and illegally <br />participating in fights, riots, civil <br />insurrections, or while committing a <br />crime; <br />(c) Injury or disease sustained by the <br />Member while serving in any armed <br />forces; <br />(d) Injury or disease sustained by the <br />Member after his or her employment has <br />6 <br />
