CITY CI,ERI~'S P® T <br />• Announced that applications were being accepted through January 18, 2010 for the variorls advisory <br />board appointments to be made at the January 25, 2010 City Commission meeting. <br />• Noted Casselberry will be hosting CALNO on February 3, 2010. <br />17. CITY C® ISSI®NERS' PTS/COM ENTS <br />Commissioner Susan Doerner - Seat No. 1: <br />• No report. <br />Commissioner Jon Miller -Seat No. 2: <br />Commented he would like to see the City further commit to economic and business development in <br />2010. <br />Commissioner Colleen Hufford -Seat No. 4: <br />Agreed with Commissioner Miller's comments regarding economic and business development, and <br />wanted everyone to be cognizant that property values continue to dwindle and that pending major <br />expenditures in all departments need to be scrutinized carefully and possibly delayed until 2012. <br />Commissioner Hufford voiced concerns regarding the purchase of the new fire engine and rescue <br />vehicles. Discussion ensued regarding the specifications of the fire vehicles and ensuring that <br />everything is being done to keep costs down by meeting basic needs only. The City Manager stated <br />she will place the matter on the next agenda for review and discussion. <br />Vice Mayor• Sandra Solomon -Seat No. 3: <br />Voiced concerns regarding signal synchronization along the State Road 436 corridor and inquired if <br />the timing could be adjusted in Casselberry to be similar to that in Altamonte Springs. <br />Stated she was interested in possible development of a new central library branch building in <br />Casselberry to help attract more businesses. <br />Commended staff regarding continued upkeep of the dog park and noted that she receives a lot of <br />compliments about the park. Also noted that her family enj oyed the new bike trail over the holidays. <br />Mayor Charlene Glancy -Seat No. 5: <br />• Noted Dr. Zacco had contacted her regarding possible fine tuning ofthe regulations for seasonal sales <br />on vacant properties to also include Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day, and increasing <br />
