Section 42-96 of the Casselberry City Code of Ordinances is <br /> <br />hereby amended to read as follows; <br /> <br />Sec. 42-96. Established; funding. <br /> <br />(a) Statutory authority. This Section is adopted in compliance <br />with the revised Charter of the City, as amended and adopted, and in <br />conformance with F.S. S 166.041. <br /> <br />(b) Program established; purpose. There is established within <br />the Fire Department of the City a paramedic advanced life support <br />program, whereby the City is authorized to fund the hiring or the <br />continuing advanced training of required and necessary advanced <br />emergency medical technicians (EMT's), advanced emergency medical <br />technician drivers or advanced paramedics, and to purchase or fund the <br />purchase of such equipment as drugs, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, <br />medical radios and other supplies, equipment and vehicles as needed to <br />establish a paramedic advanced life support program. The paramedic <br />advanced life support program will be under the supervision and direction <br />of the Fire Department Chief and county medical director. It is not the <br />intent of the program to authorize the City to fund initial qualifying training <br />of EMT's, EM D's or paramedics. <br /> <br />(c) Funding generally.
