A vehicle that does not meet the definition of a "large vehicle" or <br />"recreational equipment" as defined in Section 3-10.9(A)(1)(b) and (A)(2)(a) respectively. <br />b. General requirements for driveways and designated parking areas. <br />1) Location. On residential lots, vehicles shall be parked within a garage, carport, or in the front <br />yard on a driveway and/or designated parking area. <br />SKETCH B <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />_.D..__. <br /> <br />. Garage/carport <br /> <br />~- <br /> <br />Designated Parking Area (DPA) <br /> <br />Driveway <br /> <br />A) Detached single family residential parking. See Sketch B. <br />i) Parking on the driveway and/or designated parking area shall be confined to no more <br />than one third of the front yard. <br />ii) There shall be no parking in the side or rear yard, except as provided in Section v), <br />Exceptions. <br />iii) The driveway/designated parking area shall be cohesive and restricted to one side of <br />the yard or the other. The driveway/designated parking area shall be located to the <br />side of the property where the carport or garage is located. <br />iv) The driveway/designated parking area shall not be located in the middle of the front <br />yard unless the driveway is designed and permitted to be circular or unless the lot <br />configuration, natural topography, natural feature, or entrance alignment with a public <br />or private street prevent the driveway from being located elsewhere. <br />v) Exemptions. The following parking situations shall be allowed: <br />a) Circular driveways may exceed the maximum one third width for the front yard. <br />A designated parking area is not permitted in addition to a circular driveway. <br />b) Rear yard parking. Parking of personal use vehicles is permitted in the rear yard <br />in an attached or detached garage if a driveway extends from the garage to the <br />roadway. The detached garage shall be a legally permitted structure. As <br />required for front yard parking, the driveway/designated parking area shall be on <br />one side of the rear yard and adjacent to the carport or garage. <br />S) Planned Residential Development (PRD). Personal use vehicles shall be parked on the <br />paved driveways and designated parking areas provided within the approved site <br />development plan. <br /> <br />Ordinance 09 -1295 <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />
