<br />Prepared by: <br />Community Development Department <br />95 Triplet Lake Drive <br />Casselberry, FL 32707-3399 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 09.1295 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />AMENDING PART III, ARTICLE X, SECTION 3.10.9 OF THE <br />CASSELBERRY CODE OF ORDINANCES ENTITLED "PARKING <br />OF VEHICLES IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS" BY DELETING <br />SECTION 3.10.9 (A) (4); ESTABLISHING SECTION 3-10.9(3), <br />PARKING OF PERSONAL USE VEHICLES, PROVIDING CRITERIA <br />FOR PARKING PERSONAL USE VEHICLES ON A DRIVEWAY <br />AND DESIGNATED PARKING AREA ON RESIDENTIAL <br />PROPERTY; ESTABLISHING SECTION 3-10.9(4) PROVIDING <br />CRITERIA FOR UNLICENSED AND INOPERABLE VEHICLES; <br />PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY <br />AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission is aware that there is a growing problem within the City of <br /> <br />persons parking vehicles in residential areas within front yards in a manner that detracts from appearance <br /> <br />and quality of the neighborhood; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, parking vehicles across the front yards and/or in a disorganized manner detracts from <br /> <br />the residential character of the City's neighborhoods and in some cases endangers the well-being of <br /> <br />pedestrians who desire to use the sidewalk; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City recognizes that personal use vehicles, when parked in a residential district, <br /> <br />should be parked to protect the appearance of, and protect the value of, the residential districts; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission hereby finds that parking in an organized manner in the front <br /> <br />yards is necessary to preserve the residential character, integrity, and unique aesthetic quaiities of <br /> <br />neighborhoods within the City of Casselberry; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, neighborhood aesthetics are an integral part of maintaining property values and are <br /> <br />relevant zoning considerations.
