Mr. Mark Long, 500 Benedict Court, Casselberry, Florida came forward to speak against this <br /> <br />Mr. Long stated that he has lived in Casselberry for seventeen years and he operates a small plumbing business. <br /> <br />Mr. Long stated many homes in Casselberry do not have sufficient area to park their vehicles in the side yard. He <br /> <br />said people use their vehicles to make a living and felt there are other options available to help clean up <br /> <br />appearance of the vehicles. He said these regulations affect the residents' livelihood. He said there is no provision <br /> <br />for grandfathering in. Mr. Long said an 8 foot fence would be very expensive and there is no way to plant hedges <br /> <br />that would be 8 foot in a year. <br /> <br />Ms. Smith clarified that the ordinance does not require an 8 foot fence. She said the ordinance states it <br /> <br />must be screened by fencing not to exceed 8 feet. Ms. Smith explained a fence does not need to be 8 feet tall if <br /> <br />vehicle does not meet the 8 foot height. <br /> <br />Mr. Dennis Scherr, 463 South Triplet Lake Drive, Casselberry, Florida came forward to speak against <br /> <br />request. Mr. Scherr states that he works for a gas company and he is a first responder for gas ~ leaks. stated <br /> <br />the ordinance addressed government emergency vehicles; however, it did not address emergency vehicles <br /> <br />utilities. He is concerned with his response time to emergency situations. Mr. Scherr suggested using a variance to <br /> <br />address utility emergency vehicles. <br /> <br />Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, Florida came forward. Mr. Casselberry <br /> <br />suggested parking recreational vehicles in the rear yard. He felt that it was a hazard to park recreational vehicles in <br /> <br />the side yard due to the fuel and liquid propane hazard. He said he would also include lakefront lots as well. He said <br /> <br />the vehicles should not block the view of the adjacent neighbors. Mr. Casselberry felt that the 8 foot height was too <br /> <br />high. <br /> <br />Ms. Smith provided a history of the various parking ordinances to the Planning and Zoning Commission. A <br /> <br />general discussion ensued regarding the possibility of scheduling a joint workshop with the City Commission and <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Commission. Ms. Drage said that she would research the option for a joint City <br /> <br />Commission/Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. In response to the Commission's concern, Ms. Smith stated <br />
