Ms. Smith presented a PowerPoint presentation depicting various attachments for vehicles to <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Commission (a copy is attached and made a part of the minutes). Ms. Smith explained that <br /> <br />revised the draft ordinance that was included in the meeting packet based on comments from the Police Chief, <br /> <br />Enforcement Supervisor, City Attorney and direction from the City Manager and those changes are indicated in <br /> <br />Ms. Smith reviewed the revised draft ordinance (a copy is attached and made a part of the minutes). A general <br /> <br />discussion ensued regarding the type of screening allowed, the height and length of the attachment/accessory, <br /> <br />factory engineered/factory built accessories and fence height. Ms. Smith reviewed the diagram depicting various <br /> <br />screening options for large vehicles (a copy is attached and made a part of the minutes). A general discussion <br /> <br />ensued regarding parking large vehicles in a designated parking area adjacent to the driveway. Ms. Smith <br /> <br />that the Planning and Zoning Commission provides a recommendation to the City Commission regarding <br /> <br />proposed amendments to the Unified Land Development Regulations and the City Commission has the authority to <br /> <br />make any amendments they feel are appropriate. <br /> <br />Ms. Smith stated that she drafted an ordinance based on the direction given at the City Commission <br /> <br />Workshop. She said the ordinance is provided to the Planning and Zoning Commission to review and provide a <br /> <br />recommendation to the City Commission. She said the City Commission will take the Planning and Zoning <br /> <br />Commission's recommendation into consideration. <br /> <br />A general discussion ensued regarding screening of vehicles parked in rear yards of lakefront properties <br /> <br />and environmental concerns with parking vehicles adjacent to the lakes. Ms. Drage said she would consult with Ms. <br /> <br />Katie Reischmann, City Attorney, regarding screening of vehicles on lakefront properties. In response to the <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Commission's question, Ms. Smith said she would clarify the language in Section 3- <br /> <br />10.9(1)(b)(2) to refer to designated parking area. <br /> <br />Ms. Smith stated that that the Planning and Zoning Commission has the option to continue this item until <br /> <br />next meeting to provide the Commission an opportunity to review the ordinance in its final version before it is <br /> <br />forwarded to the City Commission. <br />
