Ms. Smith said she would make a correction to Sketch A for Section Recreational Equipment <br /> <br />Screening to include "Up to 8' high vision obscuring wall" before this item is reviewed by City Commission. <br /> <br />In response to the Commission's question regarding recreational equipment screening, Ms. Smith stated <br /> <br />that the Planning and Zoning Commission suggested adding screening for properties located on lakes; <br /> <br />draft ordinance was prepared based primarily on the direction from the City Commission. Ms. Smith stated that <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Commission has the following options: <br /> <br />1. Recommend approval of the ordinance to the City Commission as presented <br />2. Recommend approval of the ordinance to the City Commission with the changes made <br />Planning and Zoning Commission <br />3. Recommend denial of the ordinance to the City Commission <br /> <br />Ms. Smith stated that the only modification to Sketch A in Section 3-10.9 is to address the change in <br /> <br />height from 6 feet to 8 feet for recreational equipment screening. <br /> <br />In response to the Commission's questions, Ms. Smith reviewed the definition of "designated parking <br /> <br />and the height requirements for tent-like structures. <br /> <br />Mr. Parkhurst asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to speak in favor or in <br /> <br />to, the request. Mr. Mark Long, 500 Benedict Court, Casselberry, Florida came forward. Mr. Long said he attended <br /> <br />the City Commission meeting that discussed the changes to the parking ordinance. He <br /> <br />that the <br /> <br />Commission's intent was to allow parking in the driveway, removal of most or all material from racks <br /> <br />provide <br /> <br />side yard parking as an alternative. Mr. Long felt that the 8 foot high fences would be unsightly. Mr. Long expressed <br /> <br />a concern that residents would install 8 foot fences and then the City would determine that <br /> <br />are unsightly <br /> <br />change the Code to restrict them. Mr. Long suggested that the Commission research the appearance of 8 <br /> <br />fences before approving the change to the maximum fence height. <br /> <br />In response to the Commission's question, Ms. Smith stated the current Code <br /> <br />commercial <br /> <br />with attachments to be parked in the garage. She said the proposed change allows commercial vehicles <br /> <br />attachments to be parked in the driveway or parked in the side yard with up to an 8 foot fence. <br /> <br />said the <br /> <br />equipment must be removed from the attachments when the vehicles are parked. <br /> <br />Smith explained that <br />
