<br />Mr. Spence asked what it cost to replacement the fence. Mr. Cruz said the amount was $26,000. <br /> <br />Mr. Cruz mentioned that this section of the trail was originally going to measure 6 feet wide, but <br />was widened to 10 feet. <br /> <br />Mr. Mason asked if the ball fields were back in order. Mr. Cruz said that they were. New <br />backstops and benches were installed. <br /> <br />Phase I design is about 30% complete. The City is still exploring its options at the Wirz Park <br />section of the trail. The trail may be able to go in front of Dave's World Cycle at the intersection <br />of 436 and Wilshire. <br /> <br />Both the Casselberry Golf Club and the Big Cypress Association seem to be favorable to giving <br />the City an easement for Phase III of the bike trail. <br /> <br />Seminola Park Update <br />The City Commission approved the sale of the land at the Seminola Park site and will close on <br />September 11 tho The interlocal agreement has been signed with the County. <br /> <br />Mr. Mason asked what the size of the park would be. Mr. Cruz said it would be approximately <br />3.5 acres. <br /> <br />Funding sources/grants will have to be found before this park can be developed. The area will be <br />cleared, fenced, and maintained until that time. <br /> <br />Mana2er's Report: <br />. An article titled "Good Parks Are Good for the Economy" was passed out to the Board. <br />This article was forwarded to Mr. Cruz by Mr. Matt Fortini, Administrative Services <br />Director. <br />. Jessy J Jazz Concert- The next jazz concert will take place on October 24th and is <br />tentatively scheduled to be held in the new Lake Concord Park. <br />. 5k Run-The Autumn Rock 'n' Run 5k will be held this Saturday, September 12th at 7:30 <br />am. The race begins at City Hall. <br />. Lake Concord Park Bathrooms- Two public bathrooms are being built behind the <br />Commission Chambers at City Hall. <br /> <br />Board Member Comments: <br />Mr. Spence asked when the trail head would open. Mr. Cruz replied that it is anticipated to open <br />by Thanksgiving. <br /> <br />Ms. Herron asked if Lake Concord Park would be open at night. She thought it would be nice to <br />have it open at night because of the boardwalk and fountain. Mr. Cruz said that City park hours <br />are sunrise to sunset, but this can be adjusted if necessary. This is something the PRAB may <br />want to discuss in the near future. <br /> <br />Mr. Mason asked about the status of Sunnytown Park. Mr. Cruz said that the park could be used <br />for infOlmal baseball and soccer practices, but parking is limited. <br /> <br />2 <br />
