<br />CASSELBERRY PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD <br />Casselberry Recreation Center <br />200 N. Triplet Lake Dr., Casselberry, FL 32707 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board was held Tuesday, September 8, <br />2009 at the Casselberry Recreation Center located at 200 N. Triplet Lake Drive. Butch Spence <br />called the meeting to order at 7:03 P.M. <br /> <br />Board Members Present: <br />Butch Spence, June Herron, Bill Hyde, Phyllis Sheppard, Michael Mason <br /> <br />Board Members Absent: <br />None <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br />Luis Cruz (Parks and Facilities Manager), Alicia Kardell (Parks and Recreation Office Assistant) <br /> <br />Audience Present: <br />John Casselbeny <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes: <br />June Herron made a motion to approve the August 11th minutes as written. Phyllis Sheppard <br />seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously 5-0. <br /> <br />Audience Participation: <br />Mr. John Casselberry, 700 S. Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, Florida, suggested using stainless <br />steel for bridge sections crossing over water in the bike trail. Mr. Cruz thanked Mr. Casselberry <br />for the suggestion, and said when the construction gets to that point it will be looked into. <br /> <br />Lake Concord Park Update <br />The second ornamental fountain should be installed after the next City Commission meeting. A <br />wood sculptor has been working to create sculptures out of tree stumps depicting a family of <br />herons behind City Hall. An additional sculpture is being carved behind the police station. Mr. <br />Cruz said that the anticipated completion date for Lake Concord Park is October 1 st. <br /> <br />Mr. Spence asked if the benches were installed. Mr. Cruz replied that the benches and picnic <br />tables haven't been installed yet. <br /> <br />Bike Trail Update <br />The work at the school has been completed. Work is now proceeding to Crystal Bowl Park. The <br />City has gotten the easement agreement from Sterling Park. The trail head should be coming <br />along soon. <br /> <br />Ms. Herron asked if the City provided new fences for the homes behind Casselberry Elementary. <br />Mr. Cruz replied that the City did replace fences for the residents. It was necessary to take down <br />the original fences in order to get into the yards and build the trail. <br /> <br />1 <br />
