<br />of business. The sale price is $4,000. The fountain is regularly priced at $16,000. This fountain <br />will be placed in the sculpture garden area. <br /> <br />Bike Trail Update <br />Mr. Cruz reported that the City has broken ground on Section II of the bike trail. All the <br />pennitting is in. <br /> <br />Phyllis Sheppard asked what area Section II would cover. Mr. Cruz replied that it covers the <br />area from Marigold Dr/Winter Park Dr heading towards Zinnia Trail, around the southern <br />property of South Seminole Middle School, the east side of Casselberry Elementary, onto Crystal <br />Bowl. <br /> <br />An outside consultant has been hired to deal with easement issues. <br /> <br />The preliminary designs for Phase I have been forwarded to Progress Energy. This is a <br />challenging phase and many alternatives are being reviewed. <br /> <br />June HeITon asked if the City was trying to buy the property from Progress Energy. Mr. Cruz <br />said the City is trying to get an easement agreement with them. Ms. Herron asked if there were <br />fees involved. Mr. Cruz explained that there would be fees involved, and the City will be <br />analyzing whether these fees would be cost prohibitive. <br /> <br />Bill Hyde questioned whether Bill Hufford with Friends of the Park had been asked for a letter of <br />support for this section of the trail. Mr. Cruz replied that Linda Moore is assisting with gaining <br />support from this and other outside groups. <br /> <br />June HeITon asked what the construction time line would be for Phase II. Mr. Cruz replied that <br />this section should take four months to complete. <br /> <br />UC&F Tree Inventory Grant Update <br />The City has been approved for a UC&F Tree Inventory grant in the amount of $12,500. This <br />will be matched by the City. <br /> <br />Seminole County Boatin2 Improvement Grant <br />The City has been awarded a $15,000 Boating Improvement Grant from Seminole County. <br /> <br />Mana2er's Report: <br />. Budget- Mr. Cruz said that the focus for the Parks and Facilities Division in the <br />upcoming year would be to continue the bike trail process. Energy conservation <br />throughout the City's parks and facilities will also be impOliant. <br />. Parks and Recreation Month- A proclamation declaring the month of July as Parks and <br />Recreation Month was read at last night's Commission meeting. A copy of the <br />proclamation was passed out to the Board. <br />. Lake Concord Park- There will be a resolution on the July 2ih Commission agenda to <br />officially rename Anniversary Park to Lake Concord Park. Butch Spence made a motion <br />to approve the renaming of Anniversary Park to Lake Concord Park. Phyllis Sheppard <br />seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously 4-0. <br /> <br />2 <br />
