Bike Trail Section I
The survey for this section of the trail is almost complete. The plans will be shown to the board
when they are at 30%.

Bike Trail Section II
Section II of the bike trail was approved at last night's Commission meeting. This section goes
around the school.
Section III has already been designed. There will be a public meeting on May 26th, 2009 at 6pm
at the Recreation Center strictly to talk about construction plans of Section III.

Mr. Hyde asked if Section II would connect to Dew Drop Park. Mr. Cruz replied that it would
not. Mr. Hyde asked if there was a projected completion date on Section II. Mr. Cruz said that it
should be completed by the 1 st quarter of 20 1 O.

Mr. Spence asked what was being planned for the trail head at Winter Park Drive. Mr. Cruz
replied that the area will have approximately 11 parking spaces, an info kiosk, benches, trash
cans, and possibly a water fountain (if a water source is available).

Mana2er's Report:
· Progress Energy- The letter of support for Section I was mailed to Progress Energy.

· Arbor Day-The Arbor Day celebration went very well. Three magnolia trees were
planted at Secret Lake Park. Over 140 trees were given away to the community.

· 50's-60's Concert- The concert will be held on May 16th from 6-9pm at the Casselberry
Commons shopping center. A classic car show will be included in the event.

· Lake Hodge Park- Lake Hodge Park is now opened. The tennis court area is heavily
used by skate boarders. Mr. Cruz asked for the Board's opinion on taking the nets down
and letting the kids skate there.

Ms. Sheppard thought that we should proceed with caution, because this may make a lot
of noise.

Mr. Spence mentioned that the City of Oviedo has a great skate park which gets a lot of
use. Mr. Cruz said he would have to check it out.

Ms. Torres asked if the City would need additional liability for this. Mr. Cruz replied
that use of this area would be "at your own risk."

· June PRAB Meeting- Mr. Cruz mentioned that he would be on vacation in June and
would not be able to attend the PRAB meeting. Phyllis Sheppard made a motion to
cancel the June meeting. The motion was seconded by Liz Torres. The motion passed
unanimously 4-0.

Board Member Comments:
Mr. Hyde asked about the small park area at the corner of Winter Park Dr. and Seminola Blvd.
Mr. Cruz said that this area is not a City park. This is temporary and could easily change with
construction.

2
