Planning & Zoning Commission!
Local Planning Agency
April 22, 2009
Page 5

John VonLangen No

The motion passed with a majority vote.

Mr. Senzee reviewed the items that the Planning and Zoning Commission requested the applicant and staff

to address which were: striping the parking area, provide pedestrian safety feature and to identify employee/customer

parking spaces.

Sixth Item of Business: Other Business

Ms. Smith requested the Planning and Zoning Commission schedule a special meeting for Wednesday, May

6, 2009 to review Section 2 of the City's bike path plan. She said it is scheduled to go before the City Commission on

May 11, 2009. The Board agreed to hold a special meeting on May 6, 2009.

Ms. Hyde excused herself from the meeting at 7:20 p.m. A general discussion ensued regarding the City of

Sanford adoption of the rental ordinance. Mr. Parkhurst suggested the City review Sanford's information on the

subject.

In response to the Commission's question regarding the length of time before an item can be discussed so

as not to violate any ex parte communication, Ms. Drage explained that there is not a specific length of time. She

said the intent of the provision is not to discuss something that may come back to the Commission for review. A

general discussion ensued regarding a future review of the Wal-Mart site. Ms. Smith said that it is incumbent upon

the Commission to disclose any outside discussions on agenda items.

There being no further business to come before the Board, motion was made, seconded, and passed to

adjourn.

Tapes of the meeting are available as a matter of public record.
