<br />Planning & Zoning Commission! <br />Local Planning Agency <br />April 22, 2009 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />A general discussion ensued regarding parking areas, the use of an umbrella/canopy for the hot dog cart, <br /> <br />proposed signage and the approval process for the hot dog at the Home Depot located in Casselberry <br /> <br />Mr. Parkhurst asked the applicant to come forward. Mr. Jorge Mendoza, 588 Lake Howell Road, Maitland, <br /> <br />Florida came forward. Mr. Mendoza stated that he researched several possible locations in the City of Casselberry <br /> <br />to establish a hot dog cart business in a safe location. Mr. Mendoza said that his cart would be separated from the <br /> <br />traffic by 28 feet. Mr. Mendoza submitted a site diagram depicting the site with the proposed hot dog cart and <br /> <br />photographs of the hot dog cart at the Home Depot site in Casselberry (copies are attached and made a part of the <br /> <br />minutes). He said the hot dog cart is 24 feet away from the work area. <br /> <br />In response to the Commission's question, Mr. Mendoza said that the hot dog cart would be open from 9:00 <br /> <br />a.m. to 6 p.m.; however, the hours are subject to change. He said that the hot dog cart would only operate during the <br /> <br />hours that the car wash is open. <br /> <br />A general discussion ensued regarding the parking layout of the site and striping the area. <br /> <br />Mr. Parkhurst asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to speak in favor of, or in opposition <br /> <br />to, the request. No one came forward. <br /> <br />The public portion of the meeting was closed. A general discussion ensued regarding safety concerns, <br /> <br />parking, striping and the possible use of bollards. The public portion of the meeting was reopened. Mr. Senzee <br /> <br />came forward and reviewed the parking requirements for the site. Mr. Mendoza came forward and reviewed the <br /> <br />layout of the site. <br /> <br />Mr. Parkhurst asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to speak in favor of, or in opposition <br /> <br />to, the request. No one came forward. <br /> <br />After a brief discussion, Mr. Parkhurst asked for a motion to address CU 09-05. Mr. Aramendia <br /> <br />recommended continuing CU 09-05 to a later date.
