<br />Community Redevelopment Agency <br />May 8. 2009 <br />Page 8 of 8 <br /> <br />Fifteenth Item of Business: Public Comments <br /> <br />Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, Florida came forward. <br /> <br />Casselberry <br /> <br />suggested the City look at transportation improvements to enhance the State Road 436 and US Highway 17/92 <br /> <br />corridors. <br /> <br />Mayor Charlene Glancy stated that Metro Plan is a tri-county transportation entity. She said at the <br /> <br />Mayors' meeting a presentation was made regarding the future development for the 2030 Economic Plan for the tri- <br /> <br />county area. She said that the State Road 436 and US Highway 17-92 intersection was used as the model in <br /> <br />presentation. She said a representative from Metro Plan gave a presentation at the last Mayors' meeting which <br /> <br />provided two options: Option A - Urban sprawl and Option B - bringing the growth back into the cities to go up. She <br /> <br />said the options would be presented to the Metro Plan Board to vote on at their next meeting. She said developing <br /> <br />new transportation options encourages people to live, work and play within their community. <br /> <br />A general discussion ensued regarding the role of Metro Plan in the tri-county area and <br /> <br />US Highway 17- <br /> <br />92 fiyover project. <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br /> <br />Tapes of the meeting are available as a matter of public record. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
