The Cuhaci & Peterson Renovation Portfolio was distributed to the CRA Board (a <br /> <br />is on file in the <br /> <br />Community Development Department). In response to the Board's question, <br /> <br />Paradise stated <br /> <br />that the CRD Design Standards would assist business owners identify possible improvements to their property. <br /> <br />Some of the improvements shown in the Cuhaci & Peterson Renovation Portfolio were reviewed such as <br /> <br />landscaping, the use of awnings, and changes to signage. <br /> <br />Mr. Casselberry, 700 South Lost lake <br /> <br />Casselberry, Florida came forward. Mr. Casselberry <br /> <br />suggested that Cuhaci & Peterson should also identify difficult access points along the <br /> <br /> <br />The motion passed unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />Tenth Item of Business: Business Acquisition Assistance Contract <br /> <br />Mr. Paradise explained in the City's effort to assist the Economic Development Division he is requesting the <br /> <br />CRA Board assist with commercial recruitment. He said various contacts have been made in the different industries <br /> <br />and the different commercial companies about relocating to the City for new development. He said that intent of <br /> <br />the contract would be to develop and implement a marketing strategy of community assets to target business groups. <br /> <br />Mr. Paradise said this would include medical, "green industries", or general small businesses. He said the first phase <br /> <br />would identify the business assets available within the CRD and the second phase would identify a list of businesses <br /> <br />and industries that would best match the interest of the CRA. The third phase would be actively engage the groups <br /> <br />in conversation and inform them of the opportunities of doing business in the Casselberry CRD. Mr. Paradise <br /> <br />distributed a proposal from the Florida Compass Group (a copy is on file in the Community Development <br /> <br />Department). <br /> <br />Mr. Paradise introduced Mr. Jose Fernandez, President of Florida Compass Group LLC, to the Board <br /> <br />members. Mr. Fernandez stated that his firm was established primarily to work with companies outside of Florida <br /> <br />looking to establish in Florida or the United States market. Mr. Fernandez gave a brief summary of his work <br /> <br />experience in the Central Florida area. <br />
