CITY OF CASSELBERRY

WATER FACILITIES WORK PLAN

treat to potable water standards. Surface water as a source for potable water will
reduce the demands on ground water supply.

Proiect Summa!)' Details:

o Potential Entities Served: Sanford, Seminole County, Casselberry,
Oviedo, Wmter Springs, and V olusia County
o Water Supply Source: Surface water, St Johns River
o Potential Project Yield: 7.0 rngd in Phase I and 26 rngd in Phase II
o Total Adjusted Capital Cost: $29.1 Million (phase I)
o Unit Production Cost: $1.25/kgal (Phase I)

4. Swface Water Treatment Plant on St. Johns River at Mullet Lake _
Potable.

The project will be a multi-jurisdictional potable and non-potable facility with a
surface water source. A potential location of the facility is Sanford's Site 10, which is
adjacent to SR 46, the St Johns River and Lake Jessup. The intake structure would be
located on the Mullet Lake. Membrane technology would be used to treat to potable
water standards. The non-potable water needs would be served by a lesser degree of
treatment that would satisfy non-potable water standards. A reservoir to provide
non-potable water storage would be constructed. The reclaimed water augmentation
A WS project allows users to move water between multi-jurisdictional users. The
storage element of the project will allow the capture of fresh water during the rainy
season for distribution during the dry season. This type of project will maximize the
effectiveness of alternative water supplies and displacement of current and future
potable water demand to reduce per capita consumption of potable water.

Proiect Summa!)' Details:

o Potential Entities Served: Sanford, Seminole County, Casselberry,
Oviedo, Wmter Springs, and V olusia County
o Water Supply Source: Surface water, St Johns River
o Potential Project Yield: 5.0 rngd in Phase I and 10 rngd in Phase II
o Total Adjusted Capital Cost: $17.1 Million (phase I)
o Unit Production Cost: $0.87/kgal (phase I)

While the Gty of Casselberry currently has a surplus supply of potable water, the projected
demand beyond the year 2025 is expected to exceed the 2013 allocation. To ensure
concurrency with the adopted level of service of 100 gpdc, the Gty plans to participate in
the Surface Water Treatment Plant on St. John's River A WS project (Item 3 above).

v.
