<br />areas within the city; <br /> <br />6) Submit annually to the city council, not <br />less than ninety (90) days prior to the <br />beginning of the budget year, a list of <br />recommended capital improvements which in <br />the opinion of the board are necessary or <br />desirable to be constructed during the forth- <br />coming five-year period, together with methods <br />of financing. Such list shall be arranged in <br />order to preference, with recommendations as <br />to which projects shall be constructed in <br />which year; <br /> <br />7) Promote public interest in and under- <br />standing of the master plan and of planning, <br />zoning, and slum clearance; <br /> <br />8) Recommend plans for the replanning, <br />improvement and redevelopment of neighbor- <br />hoods; <br /> <br />9) Recommend plans for the replanning, re- <br />construction or redevelopment of any area or <br />district which may be destroyed in whole or <br />in part or seriously damaged by fire, earth- <br />quake, flood or other disaster; <br /> <br />10) Require information which shall be fur- <br />nished within a reasonable time from the <br />other departments of the city government in <br />relation to planning matters; <br /> <br />11) Within its budget appropriation, and <br />subject to the approval of the council, con- <br />tract with city planners and other consult- <br />ants for such services as it may require; <br /> <br />12) Request additional assistance for special <br />survey work from the city council, which may <br />at its discretion assign the staff of any <br />administrative department to the board, or <br />direct such department to make special studies <br />requested by the board; <br /> <br />13) In the performance of its functions, enter <br />upon any land and make examinations and surveys <br />and place and maintain necessary monuments and <br />markers thereon. <br /> <br />14) Work in conjunction with other municipal, <br />county, state and federal agencies in joint <br />planning endeavors. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
