<br />CASSELBERRY PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD <br />Casselberry Recreation Center <br />200 N. Triplet Lake Dr., Casselberry, FL 32707 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board was held Tuesday, February 10, <br />2009 at the Casselberry Recreation Center located at 200 N. Triplet Lake Dr. Butch Spence <br />called the meeting to order at 7 :02 P.M. <br /> <br />Board Members Present: <br />Butch Spence, Phyllis Sheppard, June Herron, Liz Torres <br /> <br />Board Members Absent: <br />William Hyde <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br />Luis Cruz (Parks and Facilities Manager), Alicia Kardell (Parks and Recreation Office Assistant) <br /> <br />Audience Present: <br />John Casselberry <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes: <br />Butch Spence made a motion to approve the January 13th minutes as written. Phyllis Sheppard <br />seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously 4-0. <br /> <br />Selection of Chairman and Vice Chairman <br />Phyllis Sheppard made a motion to move this item to the March loth meeting so all Board <br />members could be present for the selection. Butch Spence seconded the motion. The motion <br />carried unanimously 4-0. <br /> <br />Lake Concord Park Update <br />Several trees have been cut down to make way for the new park. All trees which will remain in <br />the park have been identified and marked. The site clearing should begin soon. <br /> <br />The construction of the interactive fountain will begin later this month/early March. Mr. Spence <br />asked when the fountain construction would be completed. Mr. Cruz said that both the fountain <br />and the playground need to be completed by the end of March. The playground equipment has <br />been received and is being stored in the Fire Dept bays until the area is cleared. <br /> <br />All park benches, picnic tables, umbrellas, and umbrella stands have been ordered. Mr. Cruz has <br />just received the purchase order for the bike rack and water fountains. <br /> <br />Mr. Cruz will go before the CRA this Friday to seek funding approval for the planters and a <br />shower (to be placed near the water fountain). Phyllis Sheppard asked why a shower was <br />needed. Mr. Cruz replied that the interactive fountain falls into the class of regulations with <br />pools and spas and therefore a shower is required. <br /> <br />1 <br />
