<br />residents in his community would not be able to raise enough funds to cover the costs <br />associated with hydrilla removal. Dr. Brock advised Mr. Blais that the City did not <br />authorize the removal of the fish screen and has to look into the circumstances <br />surrounding the removal of the screens. Dr. Brock also mentioned that Mr. Scott <br />Scherr, a Lakes Management Advisory Board Member, recently brought this issue to his <br />attention and that Mr. Scherr was asked to provide the specifications for the specific <br />fish screens that were removed (the fish screen specs are determined by the State of <br />Florida). Lastly Mr. Blais inquired about the locking mechanism for the weir. Dr. Brock <br />assured Mr. Blais that a wheel locking mechanism will be put in place, secured, and <br />controlled by the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Andrew Meadows, 480 Lake Kathryn Circle, advised the Board that he was <br />interested in becoming a member. Dr. Brock and the Recording Secretary advised Mr. <br />Meadows of the procedures and provided Mr. Meadows with the City's web address as <br />well as the contact information for the City Clerk. other items of discussion were the <br />improvement of notification procedures in place for issues that affect lakefront owners. <br />In particular, Mr. Meadows mentioned a recent incident whereas his boat was stuck due <br />to the City's failure to provide proper notification when lowering the water levels on his <br />lake. Dr. Brock advised that the City mainly hands out door hangers as this method is <br />the simplest and most effective, however, the City is willing to develop a protocol to <br />ensure all affected residents are properly notified. Mr. Meadows suggested that while <br />hosting various lakefront workshops that the City obtain and develop a master emaillist <br />and utilize this list to send out email notifications. <br /> <br />Mr. John Casselberry, 700 S. Lost Lake Lane, discussed the demolition of the <br />Parks building located on Melody Lane. He also inquired if there was a pattern between <br />rainfall and algal bloom. Dr. Brock and members of the Board mentioned that data is <br />available, although it could become difficult to develop a strong pattern between the <br />two. Lastly, Mr. Casselberry suggested the installation of swales on lakefront property <br />to help with the control of algae. Dr. Brock agreed that this would be a good idea; <br />however, it could become costly for lakefront homeowners to construct and maintain. <br /> <br />7. Adjournment <br />.
