<br />CASSELBERRY PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD <br />Parks & Recreation Administration Office <br />125 E. Melody Lane, Casselberry, FL 32707 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board was held Tuesday, June 13, 2006. <br />Pete Monaco called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. <br /> <br />Board Members Present <br />: <br />Pete Monaco, Phyllis Sheppard, Liz Torres <br /> <br />Staff Present <br />: <br />Matt Fortini (Parks & Recreation Director), Maria Simmons (Rec. Aide), Julie Dross (Special <br />Events Coordinator) <br /> <br />Audience Present: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />: <br />th <br />Phyllis Sheppard made a motion to accept the May 16, 2006 minutes. Liz Torres seconded the <br />motion. The motion carried unanimously 3-0. <br /> <br /> <br />Item 1 - Neighborhood Grant Program <br />Minor changes made to the Community Matching Grant Program on pages #5, #10 & #11 were <br />explained and discussed. These changes were made to clarify or to update information for the <br />current year. <br /> <br />Mr. Fortini went over details on how the budget works when awarded. Mr. Fortini also <br />addressed that the funds should not be used for maintenance. <br /> <br />Liz Torres suggested a sample of the budget should be included in the package to avoid <br />confusion. Mr. Fortini and Julie Dross had discussed prior to the meeting and agreed. <br /> <br />Phyllis Sheppard made a motion to accept the changes and Liz Torres seconded the motion. The <br />motion carried unanimously 3-0. <br /> <br />Item 2 – Appointment to Special Events Committee <br />Mr. Fortini introduced Julie Dross, (Special Events Coordinator) and informed the PRAB that <br />the Special Events Advisory Council was looking for another member to add to their board and <br />asked Julie Dross to brief the committee about the upcoming events and activities that the <br />Special Events Advisory Council is currently working on. <br /> <br />Mr. Fortini added that the Special Events Advisory Council was instrumental with resources and <br />suggestions, for example, borrowing the stage from Lyman High saving a substantial amount of <br />money. <br /> <br />(over) <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
