Melody Lane, Casselberry, FL 32707 <br /> <br />th <br />A regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Department was held Tuesday, September 11 <br />2007. At the Human Resources Conference Room located at 95 Triplet Lake Drive. Butch <br />Spence called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Board Members Present <br />: <br />Butch Spence, Phyllis Sheppard, Liz Torres and June Herron. <br /> <br />Board Member Absent: <br />Marianne Kappel <br /> <br />Staff Present <br />: <br />Matt Fortini (Parks & Recreation Director), Maria Simmons (Sr. Staff Assistant) <br /> <br />Audience Present: <br /> <br />John Casselberry <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />: <br />st <br />June Herron made a motion to accept the July 31 minutes, Phyllis Sheppard seconded the <br />motion. The motion carried unanimously 4-0. <br /> <br />Audience Participation: <br />None <br /> <br />Boat Ramps: <br />Mr. Fortini gave an update to the Board about the Boat Ramps in the City. The Commission <br />th <br />voted to close all boat ramps to motorized vehicles during the August 27 Meeting. During this <br />meeting many residents expressed their approval and disapproval of the Resolution #07-1813. <br /> <br />June Herron asked why this issue was never brought to the Board, it was her understanding that <br />was one of the reasons Boards were created. <br /> <br />Mr. Fortini also advised the board that there will more open space for recreation and green space. <br /> <br />Butch Spence expressed that this was a good idea because it will make a clear knowledge of <br />green and recreation space. <br /> <br />Mr. Fortini discussed that one of the assignments that the Board will need to work on will be <br />ideas for private recreation, because this serves small area communities like Salsaulito. It is not <br />an easy task, but must meet facility level of service. <br /> <br />Mr. Fortini added in the past the issue of the Boat Ramp closing has been discussed before and it <br />is an issue that seems to surface every five to six years. <br /> <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
