<br />CASSELBERRY PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD <br />Parks & Recreation Administration Office <br /> <br />125 E. Melody Lane, Casselberry, FL 32707 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Department was held Tuesday, January 9, 2007. <br />Pete Monaco called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. <br /> <br />Board Members Present <br />: <br />Pete Monaco, Phyllis Sheppard, Liz Torres, Butch Spence and Marianne Kappel <br /> <br />Staff Present <br />: <br />Matt Fortini (Parks & Recreation Director), Maria Simmons (Sr. Staff Assistant) <br /> <br />Audience Present: <br /> <br />John Casselberry <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />: <br />Phyllis Sheppard made a motion to accept the November 14, 2006 minutes. Marianne Kappel <br />seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously 5-0. <br /> <br />Capital Projects <br />Mr. Fortini updated the board of the status of all capital projects: <br />P & R Staff is in the process of obtaining information and quotes for roof replacement of <br />pavilion and bathroom buildings, fishing pier and boardwalk and tennis and basketball courts in <br />three (3) parks. <br /> <br />The City is in process of purchase/lease of vehicles, three (3) of these vehicles will be for the P <br />& R maintenance staff. <br /> <br />Finance Department has ordered replacement computers for the City, three (3) will be allocated <br />to the P & R Department and one (1) for the Senior Center. <br /> <br />A rototiller needed for the fields has already been purchased to start preparing for the Little <br />League season starting very soon. <br /> <br />Soccer goals will be ordered very soon but the Recreation Superintendent as well as the popcorn <br />machine. <br /> <br />Finance Department is trying to negotiate a purchasing contract to purchase more radios for the <br />City, P & R is desperate need of two (2) more radios for the maintenance staff. <br /> <br />And finally, we are obtaining quotes and working with various companies in Central Florida to <br />do electrical upgrades in Wirz Park. <br /> <br />At this time Mr. Monaco asked if there were any questions or comments and none were made. <br /> <br />Senior Center – 500K have been allocated to this project, waiting for Finance Department to <br />finish with plans and Bid Requests. During renovations the center will have to relocate to <br />another building, at this time the location is not known. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
