People here know the rules, knew them when they
moved in and abide by them with little fuss, We make no exceptions. It does not
seem to be a hardship and it is the same for everyone. It makes for a much more
attractive neighborhood.

This brings me to a suggestion that Commissioner Hart made and the same one
that she has made before. That is to divide the City up so that certain sections have
different restrictions than others. I don't believe that this approach is in the best interests
of the residents of Further, it compounds a class system that may already
exist to some degree with homeowner association neighborhoods and those without. [t
would be discriminatory in that it would cause certain people to live in one area as
compared to free choice to other areas where codes might be stricter. Sort of the "your
not good enough to live in this section of town" approach because you have a big truck,
Or your truck is too old. I believe that it adds a dimension to the codes and code
enforcement that is undesirable.

If you listencd carefully, and I'm sure that you did, you also heard a genuine "me"
attitude. "I don't care about by neighbor or other residents I just want to exercise my
own rights and do what I want to do--that's why I moved to Casselberry," was the cry,
Well. when the exercise of your infringes on the rights of others there has got to be a
compromise. Basically, I believe that's what you said when you taking another
look at this thing before and I agree,

One final thought. Most of what we heard last evening was generated by blurbs
that were passed out in a planned campaign to intlame emotions. The information was
inaccurate and not distributed to all residents. In that respect it was very unfair.
resident should have an equal shot at this thing. Further, most, if not all, of the objectors
last evening did not understand that we currently have an ordinance and this new proposal
is an etTort to simplify and lessen the impact of the existing code. The "blurb"
never explained this to them, It is not just another new restriction, In fact. there is
nothing new about it! Problem is, our code enforcement has been so poor in the past that
the CUlTent ordinance has not been adequately enforced. If you want to see some
opposition change, strictly enforce the CUlTent code and then promote the positive changes
of the proposed code,

No matter what anyone says. we are a city on the move and we are
Naturally. there will be growing pains, There is tremendous untapped opportunity here
and all residents, commissioners and city employees alike need to maintain a positive
attitude, remain focused on the future and create the environment for prosperity, We are
an every color collar city and proud of it!

Sincerely,
Ed Mathieu
405 Misty Oaks Run

@ 2006 EarthLink, Inc.
