CITY OF CASSELBERRY <br />CITY COMMISSION <br />The City Commission of the City of Casselberry held a workshop on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 6:00 <br />p.m., Casselberry City Commission Chambers, 95 Triplet Lake Drive, Casselberry, Florida. <br />ELECTED OFFICIALS PRESENT: <br />Bob Goff, Mayor/Commissioner - Seat No. 5 <br />Colleen S. Hufford, Vice Mayor/Commissioner - Seat No. 4 <br />Sandra T. Solomon, Commissioner - Seat No. 3 <br />Jon Miller, Commissioner - Seat No. 2 <br />Susan Doerner, Commissioner - Seat No. 1 <br />STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Barbara Lipscomb, City Manager <br />Donna G. Gardner, City Clerk <br />Gerald Paradise, Community Development Director <br />Sandra Smith, Chief Planner <br />Ed Torres, Public Works Director <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Goff called the workshop of the Casselberry City Commission to order at 6:00 p.m. <br />II. SENHNOLA BOULEVARD CORRIDOR <br />Presentation: Ms. Sandra Smith, Chief Planner, gave a presentation on the basic information for the <br />Seminola Boulevard 3 area study corridor regarding existing and future land use and zoning, including <br />residential, community, commercial, and industrial uses allowed under each future land use and zoning <br />category. The corridor in the study area begins at the Winter Park Drive intersection to the entryway to the <br />Legacy Park subdivision near the Murphy Road intersection. Mr. Gerald Paradise, Community Development <br />Director, continued the presentation with examples of local corridor development that were studied and <br />overlay design standards, and goals for developing an overlay district. <br />Goals for Developing an Overlay District: <br />• Create a retail & professional office destination <br />• Adopt consistent commercial design guidelines (site layout, architecture, signs, and landscape) <br />• Design structures which respect the street <br />• Allow commercial/office uses that are compatible with neighborhoods <br />• Provide incentives to obtain desired development <br />
