The City Clerk read Resolution 07-1836 by title as follows: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT BETWEEN PRIME CONSTRUCTION GROUP, INC., AND THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PHASE 1 OF THE WINTER PARK DRIVE NORTH REALlGHMENT PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE." Public Works Director: The construction of Phase I for the Winter Park Drive North Realignment Project was advertised for bids in the Orlando Sentinel on August 19 and 26, 2007. Prime Construction Group, Inc. submitted the lowest responsive bid in the amount of $5,168,069.00, which meets the project requirements of the City. The project will be funded through the Infrastructure Surtax Fund. The project encompasses a new roadway segment, sidewalks, decorative stamped asphalt, landscaping, decorative street lighting and decorative signalization mast arms at the State Road 434 intersection. The construction duration to complete this project is estimated to be approximately one year. The City Manager stated that the City would be presenting an item on the next Commission Agenda to secure a bank loan of approximately $3,000,000 to cover this project. The loan will be repaid using the Infrastructure Surtax Fund. Securing this loan will avoid any delays to the project. Staff Recommendation: Approval of Resolution 07-1836 as presented. Hufford to approve Resolution 07-1836, Agreement with Prime Construction Group, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $5,168,069 for the North Winter Park Drive Alignment Project, as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Jon Miller and carried unanimously on a 5 - 0 voice vote.
