<br />Community Redevelopment Agency <br />August 8, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 8 <br /> <br />Seventh Item of Business: Approval of RERC Minor Amendments to City Redevelopment Plan <br /> <br />Mr. Paradise said as part of the CRA Plan Update process RERC and City Staff conducted two public workshops in <br /> <br />January and February of 2007. He said the workshop provided residents, property owners, business persons, interested <br /> <br />citizens and elected officials the opportunity to discuss the existing 1995 CRA Plan as well as provide input for modifications to <br /> <br />the plan. The following is a list of the activities/changes that were provided at the workshop: <br /> <br />City Center New Projects <br />1. Triplet Lake Drive Improvements <br />2. City Convention Center <br />3. US Highway 17-92 Enhancements <br />4. Anniversary Park Enhancements <br />5. Restaurant/Retail <br />6. Community Center <br />Concord Center Development <br />1. Water feature for the lake <br />2. Preservation of lake view <br />3. Restaurant or hotel development <br />Community Identity <br />1. District identification <br />2. Overall/entry signage <br />3. Roadway beautification <br />4. Architectural Design <br />5. Business recruitment program <br /> <br />Mr. Paradise reviewed his staff memo dated August 1, 2008 (a copy of the memo is on file in the Community <br /> <br />Development Department). Mr. Daigle made a motion to adopt the amendments and move forward to formally start the <br /> <br />process. Ms. Campbell seconded the motion. Mr. Paradise said the CRA Plan Update would be finalized and forwarded to <br /> <br />the City Commission. The motion passed unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />Eighth Item of Business: Request from Mr. Sheldon Rubin for purchase of CRA owned properties <br /> <br />Mr. Paradise reviewed his staff memo dated August 1, 2008 (a copy of the memo is on file in the Community <br /> <br />Development Department). A brief discussion ensued regarding previous offers that have been made for the two CRA owned <br /> <br />parcels; however, the amount of the offers was not available. Mr. Paradise stated there is approximately $450,000 invested in <br /> <br />the two parcels. He said that the CRA could accept less money for the parcels provided that it is moving towards <br /> <br />redevelopment of the property per the Redevelopment Plan and there is a possibility of increasing the tax return on the <br /> <br />property. Mr. Paradise said that the property appraised at $580,000 in April 2007. <br />
