RESOLUTION 08-1900 "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE AGREEMENT WITH BRANDES DESIGN-BUILD, INC. FOR THE SOUTH WATER TREATEMENT PLANT FORCED DRAFT AERATION PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry has identified the need to improve the water quality at the water plants and specifically the South Plant; and WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry advertised for bids in the Orlando Sentinel on May 25 and June 1, 2008 for the South Water Treatment Plant Forced Draft Aeration Project 0807; and WHEREAS, on June 25,2008, the City received twelve (12) sealed bids; and WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed the bid proposal from Brandes Design-Build, Inc. in the amount of $1 ,599,000.00, and found it to be the lowest responsive, responsible, and adequate bid proposal to meet the project requirements of the City. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the Agreement with Brandes Design-Build, Inc.. attached as "Exhibit A", and authorizes the Mayor to execute said document on behalf of the City. SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION III. Severabilitv. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. SECTION IV. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
