Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Miller. Motion carried unanlmonsIy by <br />voice vote 5 - O. <br /> <br />C. Resolution 08-1903 - Contractual Agreement with APEC. Inc. For the Construction <br />of the Plumosa Avenue and U.S. Hil.!hwav 17-92 Intersection Imorovements Proiect <br />and Related Budget Transfer #08-048 <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 08-1903 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTION OF THE AGREEMENT WITH AMERICAN PERSIAN ENGINEERS & <br />CONSTRUCTORS, INC. (APEC) FOR THE PLUMOSA A VENUE AND U.S. 17-92 <br />INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Mr. Ed Torres, Public Works Director, stated Resolution 08-1903 provides for award <br />of lowest responsive bid in the amount of $1,429,501.20 to American Persian Engineers & Constructors, <br />Inc. (APEC) to construct the transportation improvements identified and depicted in the construction <br />documents for the Plumosa Avenue and U.S. Highway 17-92 Intersection Improvements project. The <br />construction duration to complete this project is estimated to be seven months. <br /> <br />Budget Impact: Funds required to cover the actual project cost of construction include the bid amount of <br />$1,429,501.20, plus a 10% contingency in the amount of$142,950.l2, for a total amount of$I,572,451.30. <br />In 2007, the Casselberry Redevelopment Agency approved and budgeted the amount of$225,000 toward this <br />project. The balance of $1 ,347,451.30 is available through the Capital Improvement Fund _ Local Option <br />Gas Tax. A budget amendment is necessary to recognize the amount required from the LOGT Fund Balance. <br /> <br />BTR #08-048: <br /> <br />Explanation of Request: This budget amendment is to authorize contract funding to make <br />improvements to the Plumosa A venue intersection at U.S. Highway 17-92. The total <br />appropriation requested included the contract amount of $1,429,502 and a contingency <br />(10%) of$142,950. The total appropriation for the project will be $1,572,452; however, <br />in FY 2007, the CRA approved and budgeted $225,000 toward this project and it was rolled <br />forward to FY 2008. The remaining balance will be budgeted out of the LOGT fund from <br />Fund Balance established with debt proceeds received in a prior year for the purpose of <br />making road improvements. <br />
