The agreement provides compensation to the City equal to the amount of funding the
County would have provided for landscaping along this section of the corridor. A budget amendment is
necessary to recognize the contribution from Seminole County as well as the City's share funded from
reserves.

Budget Impact: In order to obtain a cohesive landscaping plan along the Seminola Boulevard corridor and
a higher level of plant material than the County would have installed, it is estimated that the City will need
to fund approximately $45,140 in addition to the $30,945 being reimbursed by the County for a total of
$76,085. Funding for the City's portion of this enhancement is available through the City's Tree Bank Fund,
Account No.1 15-0720-541.46.15. Budget Amendment BTR #08-050 also recognizes the County's
contribution.

BTR #08-050:

Explanation of Request: This budget amendment requests authorization to fund landscape
and irrigation installation for the Seminola Boulevard median, from U.S. Highway 17-92 to
Lake Drive. It will also recognize the contribution from Seminole County as well as the
City's share funded from reserve.

Account Number

Account Description

Amount

INCREASE:
115-0000-338.10.00
115-0000-389.90.00
115-0720-541.46.15

Shared Revenue - Seminole County
Other Non-Operating Sources
Tree Replacement

$30,945
$45,140
$76,085

Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended approval of Resolution
08-1908 and Budget Amendment BTR #08-050.
