The City Manager shall have the righl to <br />remove Civil Service board members for lack of participation or other factors that hinder the Board's <br />functioning. <br /> <br />Sec. ~52 24. Compensation of members. <br /> <br />Members of the Civil Service Board shall serve '-AJithout compensation and, in the execution of their duties, <br />shall not incur reimbursable expenses for member-related educational endeavors without the prior <br />approval of the City Commission. <br /> <br />Sec. 62.4052 25. Organizational meeting; officers; Chief Examiner. <br /> <br />Organizational meeting. The Civil Service Board shall promptly meet for organization annually after <br />approval of the appointment or reappointment of members by the City CommissieR Manager. <br /> <br />(a) Chairman. At the organizalional meeting, the Board shall elect one of its members chairman <br />and shall report the results to the City Manager without delay. It shall be the duty of the chairman <br />to: <br /> <br />(1) Call meetings of the Board. <br />(2) Preside at all Board meetings, public hearings and appeal hearings. <br />(3) Supervise the keeping of the minutes of the Board meetings. <br />(4) Perform such other duties as Ihe Board may designate or as may otherwise be necessary. <br /> <br />(b) Secrelary. The Board shall be furnished a secretary from within the pomsAnol humen <br />resources department of the City. The duties of the secretary shall be to: <br /> <br />(1) Record all transactions of the Board. <br />(2) Prepare Ihe official minutes of the Board and supply copies to persons authorized to receive <br />them. <br />(3) Prepare the office correspondence, records and reports of the Board, and preserve them as <br />required by law. <br />(4) Perform such other duties as Ihe Board may designate, or as may be necossary. <br /> <br />(c) Chief Examiner.
