Hufford to approve the Consent <br />Agenda as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Jon <br />Miller and carried unanimously. (4 - 0) <br /> <br />9. PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br /> <br />A. Public Hearing and Second Reading of Ordinance 07-1213 - Repealing City Code <br />Chapter 18 - Animals and Adopting Chapter 20 of the Seminole County Code- <br />Animals and Fowl <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 07-1213 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, REPEALING CHAPTER <br />18, ANIMALS, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA; AND ADOPTING ALL OF CHAPTER 20, ANIMALS AND FOWL OF THE <br />SEMINOLE COUNTY CODE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION, <br />CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Lel!al Advertisement: Advertised in the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday, June 14,2007. <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Ordinance 07-1213 which repeals Chapter 18, Animals, of the City Code and adopts <br />Chapter 20, Animal and Fowl, of the Seminole County Code was presented on second reading and public <br />hearing. The ordinance was approved on first reading by the Commission on June II, 2007. Approval of <br />this ordinance allows for the transfer of Casselberry Animal Control, which is a duplication of service, to <br />Seminole County. If Commission approves this ordinance, a resolution to approve an Interlocal <br />Agreement between the City and Seminole County will be presented later in this meeting to accomplish <br />the transfer. Animal Control is a service performed by the County for all cities in Seminole County and <br />the transfer of Casselberry Animal Control services to Seminole County will save the City approximately <br />$165,000 annually in the budget. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: Approval of Ordinance 07-1213 on second reading and public hearing. <br /> <br />Public Input: None <br /> <br />MOTION: Moved by Sandra T. Solomon to approve Ordinance 07-1213, <br />transferring Animal Control Services to Seminole County, as <br />presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Jon Miller and <br />carried unanimously. (4 - 0) <br />
