<br />1. Allliqhtinq includinq, but not limited to, parkinq and buildinq liqhtinq, shall be focused, <br />directed, and arranqed so as to avoid producinq qlare and/or becominq a nuisance, or a <br />traffic or safety hazard. <br />2. Shieidinq, either partially or fully, may be required for any lioht source as necessary to <br />eliminate qlare. <br />3. Site liqhtinq usinq spot or floodliqht fixtures mounted on buildinq walls, roofs, or poles shall <br />be shielded, either fully or partially, and anqled downward, so that no liqht escapes above <br />a 65-deqree anqle measured from a vertical line from the center of the liqht extended to the <br />qround, and the liqht shall not cause qlare or liqht trespass (See Fiqure 1 ). <br />4. Fixtures with motion detectors, photocells, or timers that allow a floodliqht to turn on at dusk <br />and turn off by 11 :00 PM shall be used whenever possible. <br />5. Sensor-activated liqhts shall have a 10-minute time limit and shall be located in such a <br />manner as to prevent direct qlare, liqht trespass and upliqhtinq. <br />b. Luminaire: <br />1. The liqht source (bulb) for any exterior liqhtinq, <br />whether for externally lit siqns, entrance doors, street <br />liqhts, or service or drop-off areas, shall not be visibie <br />from public view, reqardless of mountinq heiqht. See <br />examples in Fiqure 3. Bulbs shall be recessed into <br />the fixture and the lens shall be fiat and frosted. <br /> <br />2. All fixtures, except wall mount fixtures, must be <br />horizontal, and full cut-off type fixtures. Wall mount <br />fixtures shall be full cut-off and fully shielded to <br />prevent qlare <br />3. Fixtures under canopies shali be recessed or the sides of the fixture box shall be opaque. <br />4.
