<br />to add the definition of the term "Personal Watercraft'. which shall read as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />"Personal Watercraft" means a vessel which uees an <br />outboard motor, or an inboard motor powering a water jet <br />pump, as its primary source of motive power and which is <br />designed to be operated by a person sitting, standing, or <br />kneeling on, or being towed behind the vessel, rather <br />than in the conventional manner of sitting or standing <br />inside the vessel. This includes, but is not limited to, <br />jet skis, wet-bikes, and motorized surfboards. <br /> <br />SECTION II. Section 97.21(A) of the Casselberry city Code is hereby <br /> <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />S 97.21 REGISTRATION; EQUIPMENT. <br /> <br />(A) All owners of personal watercrafts and power <br />inboard and outboard motorboats operating upon any of the <br />lakes and canals, either partially or wholly within the <br />City, shall be required to annually register the boats <br />with the City Clerk or designee, giving the make, model, <br />size, and other identifying characteristics and <br />certifying that the boats have the full equipment <br />required by the laws of the state, this Code, and any <br />other Ordinances of the city. More particularly, the <br />required equipment for boats includes one approved life <br />preserver for each passenger; oars or paddles; boats and <br />personal watercrafts must be reasonably muffled or have <br />an underwater exhaust; scenic tour and other boats <br />carrying more than four persons for hire must be <br />safety-inspected either by the U.S. Coast Guard or the <br />u.s. Coast Guard Auxiliary; and all inboard motorboats <br />shall carry at least one underwriter's approved fire <br />extinguisher. <br /> <br />SECTION III. The Casselberry City Code is hereby amended by adding a <br /> <br />new section to be numbered Section 97.28, which Section shall read as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />S 97.28 PERSONAL WATERCRAFT REGULATED. <br /> <br />(1) A person may not operate a personal watercraft <br />unless each person riding on or being towed behind such <br />vessel is wearing a type I, type II, type III, or type V <br />personal flotation device approved by the United States <br /> <br />-2- <br />
