<br />SBCTION V. That Section 51.04 of the City Code of the City of <br /> <br />Casselberry, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />S 51.04 SCHEDULE OF METER DEPOSITS; REFUNDS. <br /> <br />(A) The following deposits shall be required at the <br />time of new installation or from each new owner or <br />occupant of every water unit served; or, in the <br />alternative as to any of these required deposits, three <br />times the estimated monthly bill, whichever required <br />amount is greater: <br /> <br />(1) Meter Size <br /> (Inches) Minimum Deposits <br /> 5/8 x 3/4 $ 25 <br /> 1 $ 35 <br /> 1 1/2 $ 50 <br /> 2 $ 100* <br /> 3 $ 100* <br /> 4 $ 200* <br /> 6 $ 300* <br /> <br />*The City Public Works Director or his designee may, at <br />their sole discretion, prescribe an additional deposit <br />for 2-inch or larger meters based on unusual anticipated <br />consumption. <br /> <br />(2) In the alternative, as to any of the <br />above-required deposits, three times the estimated <br />monthly bill, whichever required amount is greater, shall <br />be paid. <br /> <br />(3) After initiation of the water service, if the <br />average monthly usage increases by more than twenty-five <br />percent (25%) over prior usage, the City Public Works <br />Director or his designee may reassess the deposit <br />required by the owner or occupant in accordance with <br />Section 50.24(C)(1) or (2). <br /> <br />(B) Meter deposits required by this Section shall <br />constitute a guarantee to the City that all sums of money <br />due by virtue of the furnishing of water service to the <br />person making the deposit will be fully paid. Upon the <br />payment of all such sums, the City shall, upon the <br />disconnection of water service, refund and return to the <br />person making such deposit the amount of the deposit or <br />the net balance thereof after deducting any sums that may <br /> <br />-6- <br />
