Department Directors Retreat Summary Report - Reported on the Department Directors' Retreat held March I, 2007, facilitated by Marilyn Crotty, Florida Institute of Government, University of Central Florida - The Directors reviewed the goals, objectives and priorities established by the City Commission at their workshop held on February 17,2007. A copy of the Staff Retreat Report is attached to and made a part of these Minutes. . Informed the Commission of the resignation of Jimette Cook, Chief Code Enforcement Officer. . Presented a power point presentation regarding Homestead Exemption Legislation that she had presented to the Mayor and Managers Meeting on March 8, 2007. A copy of the presentation is attached to and made a part of these Minutes. 15. City Attornev's Report . The Charter Referendum Ordinance will be brought back to the Commission for discussion after close of the Legislative Session. The Supervisor of Elections has indicated that the Legislature may change the Primary Election Date to ten (10) weeks before the General Election instead of nine (9), which would affect the timeline of the City's proposed Referendum this September. 16. City Clerk's Report . Reminded Commissioners of the Tri-County League Meeting on Thursday, March 15, 2007. 17. City Commissioners' Reports/Comments Commissioner Jon Miller . Attended the Latin Jazz Festival on March 3, 2007. Congratulated all who participated; he and Commissioner Hufford were presented an Art piece to commemorate the event. . Also attended an event on March 11, 2007 sponsored by the Florida Department of Transportation Commuter Rail that featured a model commuter trail system that could be in operation by 2009. . Circulated pictures that were submitted to him by a resident of Code violations throughout the City. He requested a comprehensive review of Codes be done as soon as the new Code Enforcement Officer is in place.
