Department Directors Retreat Summary Report - Reported on the Department Directors' <br />Retreat held March I, 2007, facilitated by Marilyn Crotty, Florida Institute of <br />Government, University of Central Florida - The Directors reviewed the goals, <br />objectives and priorities established by the City Commission at their workshop held on <br />February 17,2007. A copy of the Staff Retreat Report is attached to and made a part of <br />these Minutes. <br /> <br />. Informed the Commission of the resignation of Jimette Cook, Chief Code Enforcement <br />Officer. <br /> <br />. Presented a power point presentation regarding Homestead Exemption Legislation that <br />she had presented to the Mayor and Managers Meeting on March 8, 2007. A copy of the <br />presentation is attached to and made a part of these Minutes. <br /> <br />15. City Attornev's Report <br /> <br />. The Charter Referendum Ordinance will be brought back to the Commission for <br />discussion after close of the Legislative Session. The Supervisor of Elections has <br />indicated that the Legislature may change the Primary Election Date to ten (10) weeks <br />before the General Election instead of nine (9), which would affect the timeline of the <br />City's proposed Referendum this September. <br /> <br />16. City Clerk's Report <br /> <br />. Reminded Commissioners of the Tri-County League Meeting on Thursday, March 15, <br />2007. <br /> <br />17. City Commissioners' Reports/Comments <br /> <br />Commissioner Jon Miller <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Attended the Latin Jazz Festival on March 3, 2007. Congratulated all who participated; <br />he and Commissioner Hufford were presented an Art piece to commemorate the event. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Also attended an event on March 11, 2007 sponsored by the Florida Department of <br />Transportation Commuter Rail that featured a model commuter trail system that could <br />be in operation by 2009. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Circulated pictures that were submitted to him by a resident of Code violations <br />throughout the City. He requested a comprehensive review of Codes be done as soon as <br />the new Code Enforcement Officer is in place. <br />
