<br />RESOLUTION NO. 06-1660 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA, RELATING TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, APPROVING AN <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN NAI REALVEST AND THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY; <br />PROVIDING FOR PROFESSIONAL REAL ESTATE SERVICES TO LIST AND <br />SELL CERTAIN CITY-OWNED PROPERTIES; AND PROVIDING FOR <br />CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Casselberry City Commission has carefully considered and endorsed "Revitalizing <br />Casselberry," a plan for the redevelopment of downtown Casselberry, including the construction of a new civic <br />center and associated parking; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, "Revitalizing Casselberry" calls for the sale of three properties currently owned by the <br />City of Casselberry as part of the funding scheme, such properties being the Concord Center, the property in <br />the immediate southeastern quadrant of US Hwy. 17-92 and Melody Lane and in the immediate northeastern <br />quadrant of US 17-92 and Triplet Lake Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after a review of proposals by appropriate City staff, NAI Realvest was selected from <br />among the respondents as the real estate firm with the most appropriate qualifications to represent the City of <br />Casselberry in the disposition of the three properties that were identified as properties to be sold in the <br />"Revitalizing Casselberry" plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission finds the three properties mentioned above to be surplus and that <br />the best interest of the citizens of Casselberry will be served by selling these properties. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Commission approves the attached agreement between NAI Realvest and the City of <br />Casselberry (Exhibit A) and authorizes the Mayor to execute the agreement on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />Section 2. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this <br />Resolution are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Section 3. Severabilitv. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be invalid, <br />unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of <br />any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 4. Effective Date.
