Motion was seconded <br />by Commissioner Doerner. RESOLUTION 04-1496 - AGREEMENT WITH PROGRESS ENERGY FLORIDA <br /> <br />FOR MAiNTENANCE OF SPECIFIED STREET LIGHTiNG ON U.S. HIGHWAY <br /> <br />17-92 AND STATE ROAD 436 <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Clark moved to read Resolution 04-1496 <br />by title only. Motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Hart. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />Mr. Segreto read Resolution 04-1496 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR <br />AN AGREEMENT FOR LIGHTING SERVICE MAINTENANCE ON 436 & 17-92 WITH <br />FLORIDA POWER CORPORATION dba PROGRESS ENERGY FLORIDA, 1NC.; <br />PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Mr. Segreto stated Resolution 04-1496 provides for Progress Energy to assume <br />maintenance of street lighting on U.S. Highway 17-92 and State Road 436, which was the responsibility of <br />the City under the old franchise agreement with Florida Power. The agreement represents discussions that <br />occurred as part of the franchise settlement agreement. Staff recommended approval of Resolution 04-1496. <br /> <br />Audience Participation: <br /> <br />1) John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, voiced concerns regarding the ability to <br />upgrade the light bulbs should the bulb technology improve and become more energy <br />efficient. <br /> <br /> <br />
