<br />RESOLUTION 05- 1 61 5 <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTION OF ACCEPTANCE OF A PROPOSAL FROM SMITHSON ELECTRIC, INC. <br />FOR ELECTRICAL IMPROVEMENTS RELATED TO PROVIDING STANDBY <br />ELECTRICAL POWER GENERATORS TO CITY HALL AND THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />AND FIRE DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATION BUILDINGS; PROVIDING FOR <br />CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the event of loss of normal electrical power for any reason, the City of <br />Casselberry wishes to maintain full operation of City Hall and the Public Works Administration <br />buildings; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry has, through its electrical engineering consultant <br />Electrical Design Associates, requested, and has received proposals from three electrical <br />contractors; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the lowest bid was received from Smithson Electric, Inc. which has a <br />continuing services agreement for electrical work with the City of Casselberry, and is responsive <br />and responsible, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the interest of preventing the loss of power to these important buildings, the <br />City of Casselberry wishes to proceed with these improvements without delay. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry agrees to consider this <br />purchasing decision as having unique circumstances and hereby approves the acceptance of the <br />proposal from Smithson Electric, Inc. (attached as "Exhibit A"), and authorizes the Mayor to <br />execute said document on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION III. Severabilitv. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves <br />to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, <br />force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br /> <br />SECTION IV. Effective Date.
