<br />RESOLUTION NO. 05-1609 <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN INTERLOCAL FIRE SERVICES <br />TRAINING AGREEMENT WITH THE CENTRAL FLORIDA FIRE ACADEMY; <br />PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE.~ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 2003 the Fire Department, after carefully evaluating a number of options in <br />trying to improve training opportunities for Department members and maximize creditable training under <br />the Insurance Services Offices (ISO) Grading Schedule for Municipal Fire Protection, received <br />authorization from the City Commission to enter into an interlocal agreement with the Central Florida <br />Fire Academy (CFF A) for the provision of training resources, including facility utilization, for the <br />Casselberry Fire Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, effective earlier tills year the City of Orlando is no longer providing administrative <br />support and the organizational framework for the existénce of the CFF A; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Governors for the CFF A has ultimately decided to form a separate <br />entity, created under the authority of Florida Statutes 163, by and through interlocal agreements with the <br />participating agencies to continue the functioning and óperation(s) of the CFFA; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry is interested in continuing to receive training services from <br />the CFF A and desires to join the "reconstituted" CFFA and can do such by execution of an interlocal <br />agreement. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the Central <br />Florida Fire Academy Interlocal Agreement (attached as "Exhibit A"), and authorizes the Mayor to <br />execute said document on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions of parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of tills Resolution are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION III. Severabilitv. If any Section or portion of a -Section of tills Resolution proves to <br />be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be, held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or <br />affect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br /> <br />SECTION IV. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its <br />passage and adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED and ADOPTED this Ó¥ day of .
