RESOLUTION 14-2626 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN <br />INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CENTRAL FLORIDA <br />FIRE CONSORTIUM FOR FIRE SERVICES TRAINING; <br />PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, in 2003 the Fire Department carefully evaluated a number of <br />options to improve training opportunities for Fire Department members and maximize <br />creditable training under the Insurance Services Offices (ISO) Grading Schedule for <br />Municipal Fire Protection; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2003 the City entered into an Interlocal Agreement with the <br />Central Florida Fire Academy (CFFA) for the provision of training resources, including <br />facility utilization, for the Casselberry Fire Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the City participated as a member of that training consortium up <br />through 2012 when a reorganization and realignment created a disruption in services; and <br />WHEREAS, the reorganization and realignment has concluded and the former <br />CFFA has been realigned with Valencia College and reorganized into the Central Florida <br />Fire Consortium (CFFC); and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry wishes to resume training services for Fire <br />Department personnel from the CFFC and desires to join the "reconstituted" CFFC. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF <br />THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the <br />Central Florida Fire Consortium Interlocal Agreement attached hereto and authorizes the <br />Mayor to execute said document on behalf of the City. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with <br />any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this <br />Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to <br />invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this <br />Resolution. <br />SECTION IV. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective <br />immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br />
