RESOLUTION 14-2641 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY AND THE SEMINOLE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD FOR SERVICES OF A SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER FOR THE 2014-2015 SCHOOL YEAR; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Seminole County School Board has requested and the City of Casselberry agrees to provide law enforcement personnel to perform the duties and responsibilities of a School Resource Officer at South Seminole Middle School; and WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry wishes to enter into an Agreement with the Seminole County School Board for services of a School Resource Officer commencing July 1, 2014 and continuing through June 30, 2015; and WHEREAS, said Agreement provides for the City of Casselberry and the Seminole County School Board to split the salary costs of the School Resource Officer equally, with the Seminole County School Board compensating the City of Casselberry the sum of Thirty -Three Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Dollars and 00/100 ($33,770.00). WHEREAS, said agreement provides that the Seminole County School Board will pay to the City of Casselberry the sum of Thirty -Three Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Dollars and 00/100 ($33,770.00) in eight equal payments in the amount $4,221.25 commencing on October 1, 2014 and ending on May 1, 2015. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission hereby approves the Agreement and duties of the School Resource Officer for the 2014-2105 school year between the City of Casselberry and the Seminole County School Board, attached hereto, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the City of Casselberry. SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effects of any other Section or part of this Resolution. SECTION IV. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and adoption.
